Cabane du Bastan is a backcountry refuge in the Néouvielle area, set right on the edge of Lac du Bastanet, with a dedicated hut operation for hikers looking for an overnight along the Tour des lacs / GR10C-style routes through the lakes reserve.

Use runs on the summer season, and the hut is a guarded refuge in summer (with winter use having a smaller, non-guarded setup). Capacity is given as 20 in summer and 12 in winter, with water and heating provided (chimney/wood and a source of water are). Nearby day options include connecting peaks and routes such as Pic de Bastan, and longer lake circuits that link the Bastan sector with other guarded refuges (including the typical GR10C navigation through the reserve).
