Cabane du Cortail de Batoua

Cabane du Cortail de Batoua is a basic, unmanaged pastoral stone cabin used on a day-to-day “cabanes non gardée” model: no caretaker service, and use is on a first-come, first-served basis with no bookings. It’s split into two sides—one for the shepherd (sometimes open outside the estive season), and one for hikers—so availability can vary by time of year and occupancy.

Sleep planning is modest: about 4 people total are expected, with the shepherd side typically tighter for short-term use. The randonneur side is simpler and has no fireplace; treat the hut as primitive emergency cover and plan on arriving with your own shelter option as backup.
