Cabane du lac Gary

Cabane du lac Gary is a small backcountry shelter in the Ecrins area, used for overnight stays in a remote alpine setting. It’s a hut with a stove and basic cooking/meal setup, and it provides very limited sleeping space—ideal for two people—on a simple sleeping platform (with one mattress).

The shelter is unstaffed and free-access. It’s a basic refuge without running water, so plan on carrying your own supplies and treating any water you take from the lake. In summer, the cabin can be occasionally occupied by the local shepherd, so a first-come, first-served plan works best and you may want a contingency such as a tent.
