Cabane du Louvet
Cabane du Louvet is an unmanned backcountry cabin in the Taillefer/Écrins area used as a free refuge for overnight hikers and via ferrata visitors. It’s managed locally by the Town Hall of La Morte, and use is first-come, first-served with no reservations or permits required.
Inside, there’s a wood stove, a sleeping loft with 6 places, and a table with benches. A water source (a nearby fountain/stream) is close to the cabin. For cleanup, cleaning tools and serving cookware are available, but you should plan on bringing what you need for your trip since it’s an unmanaged shelter.
