Cabane du Pas de Teil

Cabane du Pas de Teil is a small, open backcountry shelter in the Pyrenees near Hèches (Haute-Pyrénées), used for simple night stays on the floor. Use is free and the shelter is unstaffed, so plan on arriving early; it runs on first-come, first-served with no advance booking.

Inside, there’s a fireplace plus a large table and many chairs. Capacity is 5 people, and you should bring your own sleeping setup and food; reports also note a chimney and wood availability, and the hut is in good condition with an entrance chimney area. At 960 m altitude, it’s commonly associated with itineraries such as Bayelle and Pène Haute from the shelter.
