Cabane forestière du Bois-Durat

Cabane forestière du Bois-Durat is an unstaffed forest shelter used as a backcountry stop around 1,585 m. The interior is set up for simple stops with a picnic table and benches, and there’s a loft reached by a ladder; there’s a fireplace available inside.

Use is free and there’s no reservation system—expect first-come, first-served use. Plan to be self-sufficient: there’s no electricity and no running water in the cabane, and there are no bedding placements provided. Water can be sourced nearby by going up the GR Col de Moussière to cut the torrent of the Merdanel.
