Alpine hutCabane Josseaume is an unstaffed backcountry shelter (cabane non gardée) in the Vercors area, managed by the Office National des Forêts. The building is a large, simple structure with a wood stove/fireplace for heating; it’s is mostly basic shelter space with limited window openings and no other comfort provision beyond benches and a table inside.
Overnight stays are informal first-come, first-served with rustic sleeping arrangements: roughly twenty people can fit (including a sleeping mezzanine area). Bring your own sleeping gear and food; wood/heat is handled via the stove, and a tuffière spring/water source is available a short walk away along the forest track (distance is about 5 minutes).
