Cabane Marcellin

Cabane Marcellin is an unguarded backcountry shelter (cabane non gardée) in the Écrins area, used by climbers and hikers as an advance stop near high objectives. It’s a small, very basic stone-and-log cabin in a clearing with a simple table and bench inside, plus a chimney for a small fire.

Sleeping is limited to one place with no blankets provided; there is no stove. Water is available from the nearby “Fontaine Marcellin” (within about 100 m), and there are no toilets. Access is on a marked footpath from Les Vigneaux, and use is free on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system.
