Cape Horn Winter Rental Cabin
Cape Horn Winter Rental Cabin is a Forest Service guard-station-style winter cabin in Cape Horn Meadows (about 16 miles northwest of Stanley, Idaho) at roughly 6,660 feet elevation. It’s set up for winter use with a wood stove for heat and warming food/melting snow if needed, plus an electric stove and lights (electricity can be interrupted during storms). Sleeping arrangements include one double bed, one single bed, and one couch, and there’s a fireplace in the cabin.
Use is by reservation for the winter season, with the guard station open for reservations from December 15 through March 15. The maximum group size is 8, and the rate is $40 per night. Restrooms and potable water aren’t available at the site. Winter access is by skiing, snowshoeing, or snowmobiling from parking areas on State Highway 21.
