Fishhook Yurt

Fishhook Yurt is a backcountry yurt set up by Sun Valley Mountain Huts in the Sawtooth Mountains near Fishhook Valley. The hut is built from two connected structures—a Mongolian-style yurt and a wall tent linked by a lodgepole pine walkway—and it sits at about 7,400 ft. It accommodates up to 14 guests and is commonly used as a base for skiing and hiking trips in the area.

For trip planning and reservations, bookings are handled through the Sun Valley Mountain Huts Booking Platform. Guided yurt-to-yurt trips open for booking starting July 1, and all guided/catered trips open starting August 1; self-guided rentals open starting November 15. For the 2025 season, the minimum rate is $480/night for up to eight guests, with $60 for each additional person; kids age 6–12 are $25/night. At least one person in your group must be familiar with the route, access, and correct hut operations; first-time visitors are required to complete a Hut Rent Orientation ($400) on Day One. Guests generally bring their food, personal equipment, and sleeping bags.
