Chalet Alpin de la Bérarde
Chalet Alpin de la Bérarde is an alpine backcountry refuge in the Oisans, at 1740 m, operated by the Club Alpin Français. The chalet is closed to the public due to June floods that severely affected the Vallée du Vénéon; access to the Vénéon valley is prohibited, and the closure applies to both the regular and winter periods until further notice.
With a total of 61 beds, it can accommodate groups in different dormitory and room layouts. During the staffed season it has 43 places to sleep (including shared rooms and a larger mixed sleeping area); outside that period it has 19 places. The operator runs the refuge for the mountain club, and a staff presence is tied to whether access to La Bérarde is open.
