Chalet Bizot
Chalet Bizot is a non-guarded alpine refuge in the Crêt d’Eau massif (1,515 m) in the Haute Chaîne du Jura Nature Reserve. It sleeps about 15 people and is typically used on a self-managed basis (no online booking).
Inside, there are 10 mattresses, shared toilets, and a fireplace/stove. Use is free; a donation is appreciated. Access is on foot via marked trails (the usual approaches mention routes from Menthières, Collonges, or Valserhône), and the hut is reached on foot rather than by car. During the quiet-season window from 15 December to 30 June, respect the designated “zones de quiétude de la faune sauvage” between Menthières and the Bizot.
