Chalet Bourguisan

Chalet Bourguisan is a backcountry hut in the Pilat area, run by the Organisme Touristique de Bourg-Argental et ses 4 vallées. It sits at about 1,400 m and is arranged for simple, self-catered stays for groups of up to 12 people.

The hut is strictly off-grid: no running water and no electricity, and there’s no bathroom. Cooking and heat rely on a stove/wood fire setup (including a fireplace/wood stove), so bring what you need to cook and burn wood as instructed.

To sleep here you’ll need your own food and bedding/duvets, since there are sleeping places for 12 but no modern conveniences like water, toilets, or network. Booking is handled through the local tourist office: reserve your dates, then pick up the keys from their bureau in Bourg-Argental (7 Boulevard Henri Sénéclauze).

Rates and key practicals: typical pricing is about €40 per night. Arrival starts from 14:00 and departure is set for 12:30. Outdoor fire rules are strict—barbecue and open fire are prohibited on the site, including outside the hut.
