Chalet de La Vacquerie

Chalet de La Vacquerie is a backcountry refuge operated by the Club Alpin Français in the Grands Causses (near the GR74 and close to the GR7). Set at 620 m, it’s a non-guarded chalet with 24 sleeping places across 3 dormitories, aimed at walkers traversing the long-distance routes in the Larzac area.

The refuge is currently closed for the period of guardiennage. Use the official FFCAM booking page to reserve, and plan for a tourist tax in addition to the overnight stays: €0.40 per day per person over 18 years. Plan to travel self-sufficient for non-guarded operation (bring your own food and essentials), and manage group stays around the hut’s dormitory setup.
