Chalet de l'Aulp de Seythenex

Chalet de l'Aulp de Seythenex (1719 m) is a non-garded alpine hut used as a free-access dormitory. Inside, there’s a large dormitory on the upper floor accessed by a wooden ladder, plus a smaller adjoining room with 2 beds near the ladder; there’s no heating, electricity, or insulation.

Sleep setup is built around a roughly dozen-bed dorm (mattresses provided; no blankets), with an additional small set of beds in the separate room. Latrines are available, and there is water in abundance from a nearby fountain (within 100 m). Access is on foot in summer—about an hour from the parking of the station de la Sambuy—and about an hour maximum from the col d'Orgeval; in winter/with snowshoes it takes roughly 1 h 50 from the Sambuy parking. Fires and use of the stove/cheminée are not provided, so plan for cold-weather bedding and cooking outside the hut.
