Chalet Marie-Thérèse (Cabane du transformateur)
Chalet Marie-Thérèse, also called Cabane du transformateur, is an unmanaged, open-access backcountry shelter in the Belledonne massif. It’s a small, abandoned former transformer building built in the 1915–1920 period, now used as basic protection from the weather.
The structure is completely empty but offers a solid, dry shell with fully masonry walls and floor, plus a robust metal-plated door. A source at the “cité Vaugraine” is accessible a few hundred meters away, making this shelter a workable stop when you’re passing through the area.
