Chalets de Prentic

Chalets de Prentic are a non-supervised backcountry hut at 1,319 m in the Valgaudemar area. Use is free and there’s no booking—stays are on a first-come, first-served basis. The basic interior is intended for emergency/alpine shelter use, with simple bedding (bat-flanc) and a wood-burning stove.

Reaching the chalets is by hiking from Saint-Maurice-en-Valgodemard; the approach follows a standard hiking trail with roughly 350 m of elevation gain. The hut is not a staffed service point; expect occasional shepherd use of nearby structures during grazing periods.
