Dandongdale Hut

Dandongdale Hut is a backcountry emergency-style shelter in Victoria’s Alpine National Park area near the Dandongadale Track, in the Lake Cobbler–Wabonga Plateau region. Use it as short-notice shelter only: it does not take bookings and operates on a strictly first-come, first-served basis, so don’t plan your trip around guaranteed accommodation.

Road access to the Lake Cobbler area is via unsealed 4WD tracks from the Mansfield side, and those approaches can close seasonally and get very difficult in wet weather. The hut sits near the walking and day-trip network around Lake Cobbler and Mount Cobbler, with Dandongadale Falls nearby on the Cobbler Plateau.
