Doctors Hut

Doctors Hut (also known as Doctor Forbes Hut) sits in the Geehi River Flats area in Kosciuszko National Park, in the Swampy Plains River country between the Geehi Flats and Khancoban side of the road network. It’s a small river-stone hut with a concrete floor and chimney, rebuilt after the 2003 fires; the structure includes a sleepout and verandah under an iron roof.

Access is via the Geehi huts walking track: from Geehi Hut at Geehi Flats campground you can take the signed detour to reach Doctors Hut by crossing to the north bank (the hut is reached by following the sign on the south side of the river and crossing). Overnight use is treated as emergency shelter rather than a standard recreational booking—carry a tent and be ready to share the hut if others arrive.
