D'Urville Hut

D'Urville Hut is a standard 10-bunk backcountry hut in Nelson Lakes National Park, operated by the Department of Conservation. It’s a first-come, first-served hut—no bookings are required for use of the bunks—while staying guests pay hut fees via a Standard Hut Ticket placed in the honesty box for each night.

The hut has 10 sleeping places, drinking water that is untreated, a fireplace, mattresses, and pit latrine toilets. Fees run $10 per night for adults (18+), $5 per night for youth (5–17), and free for children/infants (0–4).
