Fenella Hut

Fenella Hut is a serviced 12-bunk backcountry hut run by the Department of Conservation in Cobb Valley within Kahurangi National Park (Nelson/Tasman). It’s set up for typical hut-based trips in the Golden Bay area, with bookings required for stays.

The access road into Cobb Valley (Cobb Dam Road) can need 4WD in winter because of ice and/or snow. The hut has drinking water but it’s untreated, plus cooking facilities, toilets with a pit latrine system, and a fireplace; fees apply (adult $25 per night through 30 June 2026), and Backcountry Hut Passes can be used.
