Flora Hut
Flora Hut is a Department of Conservation backcountry hut in the Mount Arthur area of Kahurangi National Park. It sleeps up to 12 people in two identical rooms (six bunks per room) and suits overnight trampers who can get to a road end and complete the short approach on foot.
The hut is set in a grassy clearing above Flora Stream. Facilities include cold water taken from the stream and pumped to an outside tap, open fires in each room, and a long-drop toilet a short walk from the hut. Use is free and no bookings are required; it’s first come, first served. Bring a sleeping bag, a cooking stove with pots/pans and utensils, toilet paper, a rubbish bag, and fire-starting supplies plus a torch.
