Gite d'alpage de la Tour de Borne

Gite d'alpage de la Tour de Borne is a backcountry alpine hut in the southern Vercors near the hamlet of Borne, reached on foot along a hiking path about 5 km from Borne. The refuge is part of La Tour and includes a larger refuge space plus an attached small refuge (“Pascal Marcel”).

The main refuge has water, gas, wood heating, and solar electricity, with sleeping space across a stay-kitchen area, two 6-bed rooms, and a 13-person dormitory, plus two sanitary groups (one accessible for wheelchair users). The main refuge is reservable, while the small “Pascal Marcel” refuge is free and in open access; it runs year-round except June (left for the shepherd). For stages or stays, bring a sleeping bag, pillow sheet, toiletries towel, good footwear, a daypack with a picnic supply during the guarded period, an up-to-date IGN map, plus bottle, binoculars, and a hat.
