Gite de Chercheliot

Gite de Chercheliot is an unmanaged forest hut used for backcountry stays in the Diois/Vercors area (around 1,139 m). Sleeping arrangements are basic: it provides space for 8 people, with a fireplace and simple kitchen support, but no stove or mattresses.

Access can be done as a day hike: park in the hamlet of Reyssets (on the road to Borne) and plan about a 1-hour ascent (roughly 300 m gain) along a route marked yellow and green, reaching the hut via the col de l’Airnoux. For water, there is a source about 400 m below the hut; expect a significant climb back with your containers. Use is free and works on a strict first-come, first-served basis (no formal booking).
