Grange de Falavier

Grange de Falavier is an unstaffed alpine shelter on the GR9/GTJ route in the Jura/Bugey area. Use is free and it works on a first-come, first-served basis—there is no reservation system.

The shelter is rustic and intended mainly for rest stops or emergency bivouacs while traversing the high ridges around Grand Colombier/GTJ. Bedding surfaces are provided, and there is a fireplace/grill area; however, a portion of the building is closed and fire use is not possible there. Sleeping places are limited (about 20 people), and it’s not an “all-purpose” hut for groups—plan to be self-sufficient and follow the site rules (night-stay rules are stricter than typical refuges).
