Granity Pass Hut

Granity Pass Hut is a Department of Conservation standard 12-bunk backcountry hut in Kahurangi National Park (Nelson/Tasman). Use is first come, first served—no standard bookings are required, but you must obtain a Standard Hut Ticket for each night and place it in the honesty box at the hut.

Fees run $10 per night for adults (18+), $5 for youth (5–17), and free for children/infants (0–4). The hut has no fireplace, and it’s set up with a deck cooking shelter to reduce impacts; drinking water is untreated, and toilets use a pit latrine. Access time depends on approach: about 9 hours from the northern access and 7 hours from the southern access, with the listed difficulty in the advanced/expert range.
