Habert des Sabottes
Habert des Sabottes is an unguarded backcountry cabin in the Belledonne massif (1760 m). It’s designed for self-sufficient overnight stays: plan to arrive without expecting reservations, and be ready for the cabin to fill quickly during busy periods.
Inside, there’s a wood-burning stove, a main room with a table and benches, and kitchen utensils for simple cooking. Capacity is roughly 8–10 people (mattresses/sleeping mats are available). There’s no running water in the cabin; basins are available nearby, and you should bring a water filter or purification tablets. Firewood is typically stocked, but you’re expected to manage and clean up after using it and to pack out your trash.
