Alpine hutHigh Hut is a backcountry wilderness hut run by the Mount Tahoma Trails Association on their MountTahomaSouth hut-to-hut system near Mt. Rainier National Park. It’s a winter and summer destination: in winter, access roads to the huts are groomed for cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, and in summer, hikers reach the South District huts along forest roads.
The hut has 8 beds and operates as a wilderness shelter in a non-urban setting; both day and overnight visitors are expected to be self-reliant and carry the 10 essentials. Online reservations are used for the current season (November 2025 to November 2026), and reservation planning is supported by a cancellation notification list for that winter season.
