Hospice de France
Hospice de France is a mountain lodge and backcountry base on the heights above Bagnères-de-Luchon, at about 1,385 m. It functions as a start point for numerous walks and provides both lodging and meals for hikers and other mountain visitors. The lodge can accommodate up to 48 people, and its dormitories total 21 beds split between two dorm rooms (6 and 9 places).
For overnight stays, bring your sleeping bag; the lodge supplies mattresses, pillows, and blankets. Dorm rooms include shower, washbasin, and toilets in the sleeping areas. Meal service centers on lunch from 12:00 to 14:00, dinner at 19:00, and a buffet breakfast from 07:00 to 09:00; snacks are also offered after lunch. Reservations are handled through the lodge’s booking process, and payment can be made by cash or card contactless/credit card (including Visa).
The site is also tied to the classic excursion terrain around the valley of the Pique, including routes that begin from the Auberge and head toward major passes and peaks in multiple directions.
