Kaiauai Shelter

Kaiauai Shelter is a daytime rest and emergency shelter on the Pouākai Circuit in Egmont National Park, New Zealand. It is not set up for overnight sleeping—there are no bunks—so you should plan to stay at Holly Hut or Pouākai Hut if you need accommodation on the circuit.

Use is simple and self-reliant: there’s no formal water supply, heating, or mattresses. Carry your own food, stove/fuel, and emergency gear, and take all rubbish and food scraps out with you. Dogs and other pets are not allowed in the national park.
