La Birgmatt
La Birgmatt is a backcountry refuge near Ligsdorf (Alsace) used for stays throughout the year. It offers sleeping space for about 28 guests and has accommodation arranged in 5 dormitories (total bed count listed up to 28 temporarily). The kitchen and main living areas are set up for groups of roughly 40 people.
Use runs on a reservation request process: fill out the reservation request form first, then managers send a pre-booking form and the stay cost details. To finalize dates, return the signed form with a deposit (arrhes) by post by the deadline in the email, then wait for confirmation. The refuge is open every weekend, while weekdays are on request; it also observes annual closure periods (02–26/01, 02–09/07, and during Christmas) plus weekly closure on Monday and Sunday evenings.
