La Cabane à Guy

La Cabane à Guy is an unstaffed wood backcountry shelter in the Vercors, at about 1,240 m. Use is free and access is open on a first-come basis—there’s no booking system.

The shelter is reachable about 5 minutes from the Col du Prayer, just after joining the marked track that climbs toward Platary. It has a table and ladder inside, plus a fireplace and a stove, but it does not provide drinking water. Expect a very minimal, drafty structure (including gaps that let daylight through), and bring your own sleeping setup and food. Food storage, cleanliness, and waste handling are on you.
