Les Mangeurs de Lune
Les Mangeurs de Lune is a backcountry gîte in the French Alps on the Montagne des Auges (1750 m). It’s a managed mountain hut with a total of 40 beds. Sleeping is set up for both dormitory-style and room stays (including dormitory capacity and additional places in rooms). The hut is accessed via mountain footpaths from the Plateau des Glières or from Entremont (Malvoisin).
Use requires reserving your stay by phone with the warden: +33 (0)4 50 22 47 22. Rates are €50 for adults and €40 for children under 12; the price covers the evening meal, the overnight stay, and breakfast. For planning your pack, bring a headlamp and a sleeping bag liner (sac à viande). The hut is typically open in summer (late June to mid-September), and winter access is only sometimes available for group reservations (10 people or more).
