Lockhouse 25
Lockhouse 25 is a C&O Canal Trust backcountry hut in Poolesville, Maryland, reached from the end of Edwards Ferry Road near the Potomac. The stay is part of the Canal Quarters program, putting you in a historic lockhouse setting interpreted for the Civil War era at Edwards Ferry.
The hut setup is rustic: it sleeps eight, has an outdoor portable toilet, and there’s an outdoor fire ring with an adjacent picnic table. The lockhouse is described as having no electricity or heat, and water is available at the nearby Chisel Branch Hiker-Biker Campsite during Apr 15–Nov 15.
Overnight stays are reserved through the C&O Canal Trust’s Lockhouse 25 booking process. Rates are given in the range of about $100–$150 per night, depending on which lockhouse is selected.
