Méga-Pod Bellechasse-Etchemin

Méga-Pod Bellechasse-Etchemin is a backcountry POD-style wilderness hut unit in the Massif du Sud regional park area near Saint-Philémon. The unit is designed for 4 people and can accommodate up to 6 people (4 adults plus 2 children with a small futon). Use includes the mattress(es), basic dish setup, and a potable water jug, plus a kitchenette with an electric range and fridge, and an electrical fire feature (“foyer électrique”).

Booking is handled through the Parc régional du Massif du Sud, with reservations made online on their PODs booking page. A minimum of two nights is required. The regular price for the Méga-PODs category is listed as 159.00 $ (and a reduced rate of 139.00 $); dogs are not allowed in this specific unit (Méga-POD Bellechasse-Etchemin and Mini-POD Buckland are reserved for people without animals). For arrivals after hours, you use the back door of the welcome/administration building to retrieve your envelope with stay details.

On the site, the external wood fire feature and propane BBQ are only available during the summer season (from the season launch until November 1). Water is delivered in advance: 10 litres of potable water per night are provided, delivered on the day of arrival; any additional potable water can be obtained at the welcome/administration post or at the Desjardins Pavilion during summer. The outdoor toilet block with a compost toilet is nearby, and there are showers available at the Desjardins Pavilion (listed as 1.00 $ for four minutes of hot water).
