Route Details

Norm's Cabin is a backcountry hut on Bone Lake, run through Stokely Creek Lodge’s trail network. Access is via hike-in or bike-in travel on the Stokely Creek Lodge trails, leaving from the Stokely Creek Lodge parking lot for roughly a 10 km trek to the cabin.

Use is off-grid. Guests need to bring their own gear, supplies, and linens, and they’re responsible for packing out their garbage and recycling. There’s no potable water available at the cabin; lake water must be boiled (or treated with purifying options you bring).

Winter stays are for completely self-supported skiers, with no shuttle service. During winter, day-skiers can use the ground floor while paying guests use the second floor; day users don’t have access to the second floor when guests are present. A trail pass is required at the lodge for winter ski-season access, and you’ll need to complete a waiver before heading to the cabin. Winter reservations run only when snow conditions permit (typically mid-December until late March).

Booking is handled through the Algoma Highlands Conservancy, with different booking pathways by season. For summer & fall (June 1 – November 1), the stay is managed as a hike-in/bike-in off-grid rental; winter (December 29 – March) is booked separately through the Conservancy’s winter process.
