Refuge

Refuge is a basic backcountry warming cabin for winter use, operated by the Club de ski de fond et de raquette de Hearst. It sits on the Hearst Cross-Country Ski & Snowshoe routes and provides a place to get warm during colder days while you’re on ski or snowshoe loops.

The club uses the Refuge area as part of its trail network, and the main cabin is typically kept heated with a wood stove. Use is day-based and operates on a first-come, first-served basis for on-trail use; no advance booking is required for day access.
