Perry Saddle Hut
Perry Saddle Hut is a 28-bunk backcountry hut on the Heaphy Track in Kahurangi National Park (Nelson/Tasman). It’s run by the Department of Conservation and is located in the Perry Saddle area.
The hut has communal sleeping with separate bunks, mattresses provided, and lighting. Cooking is possible with gas cooking, but you need to bring your own cooking utensils; there are also cold running water facilities. Toilets are long-drop type with toilet paper supplied, and the disposal method is pit latrine; no showers are provided. A hut wardens system operates in summer, and Great Walk bookings are required at this hut (Backcountry Hut Passes and Backcountry Hut Tickets can’t be used here). Fees are charged per person, per night, with rates varying by date range and residency/eligibility.
