Pierre des Trois Bans

Pierre des Trois Bans is an unguided backcountry shelter at about 1,100 m elevation on the Vosges border area (near Sainte Marie aux Mines, Aubure, and Fréland). The hut has sleeping space on the upper level accessible by a ladder, plus a table and seating on the main floor; the door is lockable from inside, and it’s designed for self-supported overnights rather than fires indoors (no fireplace).

For access, use GR5, GR532, and other marked or unmarked footpaths. It’s reached from Col des Bagenelles in roughly 2 hours. Water may be found in the nearby valley to the northwest (described as about 150 m away).
