Pryors Hut

Pryors Hut is a basic backcountry hut in the Bimberi Nature Reserve on the Brindabella Range, positioned between Mt Ginini and Mt Gingera. The hut was built in 1952 by Lindsay Pryor as shelter for people tending an alpine botanical gardens/arboretum annex.

Use is primarily for emergency shelter: overnight stays inside the hut are strictly for emergencies, while camping in the vicinity requires a free permit from ACT Parks and Conservation. A basic toilet is available near the hut, and there’s no booking for exclusive overnight accommodation—expect first-come, first-served emergency use rather than reservations.
