Refuge Barthélémy Baudino

Refuge Barthélémy Baudino is a small, unstaffed backcountry refuge on the southern slopes of Sainte-Victoire, managed by GUMS (Aix-en-Provence). It’s a basic stone shelter intended for climbers and hikers using the area’s routes; there’s no on-site staff and no online bed booking—expect first-come, first-served use by groups sharing the same space.

The refuge capacity is 6 (sleeping arrangements on a matless bench setup), and the building includes a fireplace (a chimney/fireplace feature). There is no running water nearby; bring your own water and food, plus your sleeping gear. A period closure applies: it’s forbidden from 1 July to 30 September.

Altitude at the refuge is about 798 m. Nearby, the refuge serves as a base for climbing lines and for day hikes in the Sainte-Victoire area, accessed via the Pas de la Torque.
