Refuge Club Vosgien du Thanner Hubel

Refuge Club Vosgien du Thanner Hubel (Refuge Emile Schubetzer) is a backcountry refuge on Thanner Hubel in the Ski Club Vosgien de Thann sector. It’s accessible only on foot; the nearest car park is about a 15-minute walk away, and the refuge sits at roughly 1,114 m altitude on the north-east slope of Thanner Hubel.

Use is for overnight stays in dormitories (3 dorms total) with a maximum capacity of 40 people. Guests bring a sleeping bag and a mattress pad; disposable padding for pillows is provided on-site. A kitchen is available for guest use.

Week-long use requires booking; on weekends and school holidays it’s generally open to walk-ins. Adult non-member rates include evening + overnight at 12 €, with children under 14 at 7 €; active contributing members pay 2.50 € for adults and 1.50 € for children (evening + overnight). Day visits that start after checkout before 10:00 are exempt from a day fee (3 €), and there’s an additional per-person charge for using the kitchen or barbecue during the day.
