Refuge de Bayssellance

Refuge de Bayssellance is a backcountry hut operated by the Club Alpin Français on the Vignemale massif in the Pyrenees, at 2,651 m. It provides 58 sleeping places during the guarded season and 19 places in the unguarded period (winter/extended season).

The hut is in the Pyrénées National Park and is managed as a guarded refuge from late May/early-season timing through mid-October (guarding dates vary with snow and weather). Outside the guarded period, a non-guarded section remains open from October to May (19 places).

Bayssellance is a key base for high-mountain and glacial excursions and for the normal route toward Vignemale (via the Ossoue glacier). It also sits on the GR 10 and the HRP, making it a standard waypoint for walkers moving through the two long-distance routes.
