Refuge de Chalance

Refuge de Chalance is a Club Alpin Français backcountry hut at 2,550 m in the Ecrins area, used by hikers and mountaineers seeking a quiet stop away from the settled trail network. It is a non-staffed refuge: no reservation system is possible, and at the trailhead you’ll find a logbook and instructions for use.

The refuge has 11 sleeping places in 1 dormitory. Use is first-come, with overflow possible on the terrace if the refuge is busy; bring your own sleeping gear and equipment for an unguided stay. It also sits within Parc national des Ecrins.
