Refuge de Font-Turbat (ancien)

Refuge de Font-Turbat (ancien) is a backcountry alpine hut in the Ecrins area, used as an off-season “winter refuge” option when the main refuge is not in operation. It sits in the Valjouffrey valley under the north-west face of the Olan, making it a common base for mountaineering objectives in the Olan massif.

During the summer guarded period, refuge use is handled through a pre-booking system. The summer season runs from June 13 to September 19 (2026), with opening managed daily during that window (closed outside the guarded period). Rates include half-board from about €56.25 per person (with discounts such as for younger guests and club members), and there is a non-guarded winter room about 100 m above the summer refuge available when the main refuge is closed.
