Refuge de la Cime du Melezet
Refuge de la Cime du Mélézet is a backcountry alpine hut in the Queyras area, run as a seasonal base for hikers and winter sports users. It’s set at 1,822 m in the hamlet of La Cime du Mélézet, with stays organized around GR routes such as GR5 and Via Alpina in summer, and as a base on the ski circuit in winter.
The hut has 3 dormitories and a capacity for 23 people. Food services are available via half-board (demi-pension), dinner, breakfast, and picnic lunches, with meals priced per person; a supplement is charged for bringing a “sac à viande”/pillowcase. Drap housse and duvet/couette are provided, and you’re expected to bring a sleeping bag liner (drap de sac) and a pillowcase.
Guarding operates seasonally, and outside staffed periods stays are possible by reservation for groups of at least 8 people. Winter access can be done on foot in about 20 minutes from the nearby hotel area, matching the winter ski setup; in summer the refuge is reachable by road only in summer, then by a short walk from Ceillac via the Vallée du Mélézet (about 3 km to the hamlet).
