Refuge de la Combe

Refuge de la Combe is a backcountry refuge at 1,573 m on the Massif des Bauges, used as a gîte d’étape and kept by the hut wardens Marie and Stéphane (with phone access at +33 6 23 39 84 80). It can take about 20 guests.

Stay and logistics are organized through direct contact with the wardens (phone or email), with the refuge generally open from mid-June through October, depending on conditions. A half-board stay is listed at about €38 per person (overnight with dinner and breakfast); pricing can vary by year, so confirm when booking. The hut is normally guarded in summer; outside the guarded period, conveniences like water and toilets are not relied on—plan to be self-sufficient.
