Refuge de la Creuse

Refuge de la Creuse is an unmanaged, open-access backcountry hut in the Aravis area near La Clusaz. It’s used as a basic safety shelter for hikers and ski tourers crossing the massif, with no staff on site and no running water.

The refuge is small and rudimentary: it provides shelter with very limited comfort, and practical use is for short sheltering rather than a fully serviced stay. Plan to arrive self-sufficient (including water where needed) and carry a backup plan in case the cabin can’t be accessed or staying there isn’t possible.
