Refuge De La Fontaine Des Miracles is a free, non-guarded backcountry shelter in the French Alps, used by hikers and mountain travelers as a basic stopover rather than a staffed facility. The hut structure includes picnic-table seating and a storage area intended for bivouacs for about 4–5 people, and it has a fire place with a chimney.

Plan to be fully self-sufficient: you’ll need your own sleeping setup (use a sleeping bag) plus food and water filtration. If you build a fire, keep it contained and extinguish it completely, pack out all trash, and leave the refuge clean for the next party.
