Refuge de la Vogealle
Refuge de la Vogealle is a high-altitude backcountry hut in the Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval area (1902 m), run by Dominique and Doriane Rabot. The refuge has 58 beds and is open from June to September, serving as a base for routes in the Fer à Cheval cirque and the surrounding reserve area.
Sleeping arrangements are in dormitories (4 to 10 places). The hut provides duvets (so you don’t need a sleeping bag), along with toilets, washbasins, and showers; there’s also a hot shower option and an interior dining room. A bivouac area is available, and booking is required for stays during the open season.
